The poem is full of wonderful word painting, isn't it? And with the brush Jan renders the interior of Frodo's experience so expertly.

I love the paintings, too. If you ever feel like browsing the book from which the excerpts come, the price goes up and down. I bought my paperback copy, "used, like new", from Amazon in 2009 for 8.00. Last week the cheapest one for sale [on Amazon] was 122.59. This week the cheapest "used, like new" (the cheapest copy at all, actually) was 28 dollars and some cents. So be advised that it's worth it to wait if you get interested and see it has gone up again. It's a swell book. Lots of prints, and excellent narrative and discussion to go with them.
