Fabulous! One thing you might try doing if you want to make photrealistic Frodo blend in more naturally to the painting is to create a new layer and clone some texture from the painting over the photo. e.g. in the examples below I took the liberty of working with your new piece. I cloned from the pillow over Frodo's face and lowered the layer opacity to 30% then I played with the blend mode and found I liked the overlay and soft light blends the best.
