OMG, I love Maine Coons, they're gorgeous! I met one in the street once: it had HUGE paws! And was SO friendly!
I love all the cat personalities, from snooty Persians (surely all Persians are from the House of Malfoy!) to the brainless fluffy dope that loves to nap on your lap (I find that sort of cat pretty irresistable), to the enigmatic cat full of mystery, who sits and contemplates and looks at you coolly. My favourite sort of cat is probably the super-sociable. I adore cats that talk back to you.
I've befriended many cats over the years. At the moment there are two cute black cats in my road, siblings, who run up whenever they hear my car.
Hilarious cat story: I was once staying overnight at an online friend (Ghyste's) house. She has FOUR cats, one of whom (Sprockett) adores bathrooms and loos. He'll follow you into the bathroom, regard you impassively while you go to the loo, and likes to jump into the bath and drink bathwater from the tap. He's a great big black-and-white cat. Anyway, I needed the loo in the small hours so got up and went downstairs, only to find Sprockett (said cat) in the bathroom, indeed he was draped right round the very base of the toilet, like a fluffy black-and-white rug.
He regarded me with a mildly surprised expression, as if he'd never seen a human before, or at least not one materialising in HIS bathroom in the wee small hours. Clearly, he had no intention of moving.
So, I, erm, did what I had to do, my legs dangling inelegantly over a big fluffy cat. He looked most surprised at this, but the daft creature still didn't budge. :D
His sister, Tubby, loves to sleep on people. I've often woken up to find Tubby sleeping contentedly on my legs. No amount of leg-kicking can dislodge her: she merely goes with the flow, unperturbed. :D
