Oh, when Sam realizes what those two words mean! My heart broke for him. But, being Sam, he couldn't give up hope for Frodo to stay and be healed there, in the Shire, with him. Jan can say so much with so few words. The drawing of Bilbo in Bag End is haunting, like the last painting, with the small, lonely figure standing in the water, looking out to sea. Like Frodo, looking for the ship that will bring Sam to him.
