The person who made the Edith/Luthien icon is a Finnish poster called nerwende - her LJ site is swanboat_icons. She's not very active now but back in the day she made hundreds of exquisite LotR-related icons. She's also a Snape fan! I have quite a few by her. Click on my user profile, go to user pics and you will see the full list of my icons with each icon-maker credited in the link to their LJ. It's always polite to ask someone's permission but Nerwende, like many icon-makers, puts up her icons for use by anyone, on the condition that she is credited. I always provide the link to the icon-maker's LJ. 'Never to return' is another one by her, based on John Howe's painting of the Ring-bearers' ship leaving the circles of the world. The image and the caption fill me with melancholy.
I find that photo of Edith remarkably moving. She looks so young and pretty and fresh. Forever young, she is immortalised in that timeless picture and the beautiful Elvish name her husband graced her with.
