Happy Birthday, Bagginses!
~*~
Heavens! I almost missed the Baggins Birthday! I am out of town on a family visit and forgot all about it. Happily, jan-u-wine reminded me in time. This is only a re-post, but raise your glasses with me.
I am sure you all know the images from which the manip is made. Pierre Vinet's FOTR publicity stills are as well-known as they are beautiful.Happy Birthday Bilbo and Frodo! ~*~

"this one is taller than some and fairer than most, and he has a cleft in his chin: perky chap with a bright eye"
Gandalf's description of Frodo but it also suits the younger Bilbo very well.
Happy Birthday, Bagginses!
And thanks, Mechtild

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
As my birthday gift to them, I've started a Lord of the Rings club at my school! The first meeting will be a belated celebration in their honor! I'm so excited! :)
Thank you for your lovely posts! May they and our love for them be as immortal as the elves!

I made this manip before there was any Bilbo actor other than Ian Holm, but I still would have used him, if only because Pierre Vinet did not live to take any photos of the Hobbit cast. I just love the photos Vinet took during the making of the trilogy, publicity stills, behind the scenes -- he was excellent. And I deeply love Ian Holm's Bilbo. This is not to say I am not enjoying what Martin Freeman is doing. I think he is an excellent choice to play younger Bilbo. :)
