Thanks for all that juicy background on the film and its maker, Wendy. I can't wait for Inter-library Loan to find me a copy to watch. But if it's lovely to look at, what a shame it's not on DVD. Maybe it will be issued in that format one of these days? I'd love to make screencaps if it's so painterly.

Did you read my second ETA? Now the THAT would make a dandy film. If I were up to it, I'd write a screenplay, or ask Ann Marwalk to help me. She's already done a great little series of short fics about Boromir's on-going trysts with a tactiturn but well-mannered boy prostitute who secretly is an aspiring artist. Sounds trite but she's such a reserved, tasteful writer, she makes it work. I'd love a story about Caravaggio picking this boy up off the streets, painting him, lusting for him, and eventually teaching the youth his art -- what the boy most wants beyond a bed and a meal -- while falling for him.
