Oh, the light of Rivendell! Sunlight, but it feels old, as though the long ages have turned it darker than the young sun that shines on the Shire. Rivendell is so beautifully created in the film, exactly as I imagined it when I read the books. It's beautiful and magical, but there's a lingering melancholy about it too, and a feeling of something that's lasted past its time, and is slowly fading.
The screencaps are lovely, as always. And that poem is exquisite and heartwrenching.
