I love that Jan's Sam is so eloquent. A lot of people writing Sam's pov try very hard to get his rustic dialect, make it realistic, which is proper for spoken dialogue: the things he actually would say. But Jan, while she lets the flavour of Sam's speech permeate her Sam-pov poems, does not limit Sam's expression to how he actually would speak to others or to himself. Her poems have helped open up the character for me, as much as the reading of the role by Bill Nighy on the BBC radio audio book, letting me see and admire not only Sam's heart, and his pluck, but his mind, a mind that could perceive and articulate such thoughts. I'm so happy Jan is there in his mind listening! :)
Yes, that second cap from the top is one of my favourites, too. The way his face is in focus next to the blur of Aragorn's arm moving to second him, and the fluff of Gandalf's beard, subtly highlights him at the centre, and at the centre of those who love and support him. But it's also the mix of emotions, so brave, yet afraid, all lit from within and without with that heavenly light. Yes, I love it.
ETA: Forgot the whole point of my edit! I wrote in my comment,

I just watched the scene again, and Aragorn's arm is moving not because he is putting his hand *on* Frodo's shoulder; he's lifting it *off*, to make way for Sam who is hustling in to stand beside Frodo. :)
