~ Fire-lit portrait of Frodo from the premiere issue of the LotR fan magazine.

So that I won’t kill Pearl with suspense (see her hilarious comment in the previous entry) below is the image that on some message boards caused the frenzy. Fans were beside themselves with anticipation, waiting for scans of this image to be posted on the internet. Funny, the LotR films weren’t even on the map for me then. It's hard for me to imagine now. What a lot I missed!

So, here it is, the image that made grown women weep and wail and tear their garments....

Again, if anyone would like the full-size files for any of these, I will email them as attachments (my email address is on my User Info page). The full-size files are all over 1000kb and are too large even for my premium Photobucket account. These files would be good if you want to actually print them out. I also have the original scans. These are a little washed-out, but show the actual images complete with their printed imperfections, if you are the historian types.

Other entries:

Oh, my, that's always been the most beautiful portrait of Frolijah. So sensual it smolders.

So sensual it smolders.

It is quite hissing-hot.

Yet, so sweet, too. The look in his eyes is so utterly tender. Like a heart throbbing in plain sight.

Oh, dear Eru! I'm so used to seeing this gorgeous Fro-pic, but the size of it, there! Hold me up, someone! Fetch the smelling salts!

Just look at his satiny skin, glowing in the firelight ... *purrs*

I really wish you'd been around then, Mechtild. They were crazy times, and so much fun! The hormonal cyber-surges had to be seen to be believed. :D

I refer to the Frodo in Firelight one. :p

I also really like the contemplative, moody still in Lothlorien. Mmmmm ... we likes our Fro when he's moody and thoughtful and serious, don't we, yes, precious ...

And that one of him in the foreground, gazing anxiously at the Ring in the palm of his head with the other Hobbit-lads in the background ... look at the straw in his hair. Gives me all sorts of ideas. :D

Sorry, Pearl, to rob your comment of its image, but those were supposed to be in the next entry - a copy-and-paste error. *blushes*

Well, I'll just transport my swoony comments to the next entry, then. :p

I saw it there, and spanked you thoroughly. No, virtually.

He is unbelievably gorgeous. I know we're always saying that, but this portrait makes one want to lie on the floor and scream. Or something.

I'd spare you my hankie but I'm busy holding it under my nose, having wiped his forehead with it. :D

Did you see? Periantari (below this post) says she joins you in drooling on the keyboard. It's that kind of a picture, isn't it? *grin*

It is the picture... and the light. Did I mention that I adore my characters only illuminated by firelight? And this one especially :)

Me, too. In paintings, of course, but in LotR. I just love Frodo in the scene with Gandalf in Bag End. What beautiful screencaps those made! And the ones in Mt. Doom, to die for: total Baroque bible-painting glory!

May I have the "Fire-lit Frodo" ful-size pic at estelanui@yahoo.it!

...may be also the full-figure
...and the full-naked?

Thank you, honey!

Do you mean the Art Travesty manip, "Frodo before the fire?" That's actually cropped at the pubic hair ("ouch!"), although I had one that had partial genitals, too, (which was the case in the source image), which I did not post. I didn't like the model's leg, so angular like a crane's.

Or were you just speaking wistfully, that you would *like* to have a nude, full-frontal of the "Fire-lit Frodo" image above. If that is what you meant, I second that request!!!!

Yeah, that's pretty "guh". Want the full-size for your files? If so, I'll email it to you, Whiteling. I have your address.

OH. I have wanted a better version of that scan for so very, very long. Thank you so much!

From: [identity profile] mechtild.livejournal.com

You are so welcome, Bunnie. You certainly have been an abundant source of news and scans yourself. I am pleased to be of service to you. :)

As Whiteling so eloquently put it GUH!!!!

My goodness - just look at those lips!

After reading Pearl’s comments about the ‘Days of Frenzy’ I feel as though I missed the (first) boat. :-( But chin up Est! There’s still lots of fandom to come :-)

Thank you for posting these. ((((Hugs))))

BTW Plod!

Yes, Pearl's tale of the Frenzy was such fun. I do wish I had been there in person. But I'm glad I made it in time to hear Pearl tell the tale (since she's a fine story-teller). We might not have got to LotR fandom in time to stand before the bonfire in full blaze ourselves, but we got to laugh and talk and weep with a lot of people whose clothes still smelled of smoke and who bore the singe-marks of Mass Ardour in full flame. :)
